The Wee Fresh Start Fund

Over the past few years running The Wee Cleaning Company, we have had the privilege of working in many homes across our community. Most visits are straightforward: a routine clean, a happy customer, and we are on our way.

Now and then, though, we see homes where life has become overwhelming. The mess is not laziness; it is often a sign that someone is carrying too much on their own. We have met families in crisis, older neighbours who are doing their best but finding it harder to keep up, and people who simply need a reset and a bit of dignity restored.

Those are the situations that stay with us after we close the door.

We kept coming back to the same problem: the people who need help the most are often the least able to pay for it.

Professional cleaning can be life-changing when someone is stuck, but it is out of reach for many households. That gap is why we set up The Wee Fresh Start Fund - so we can step in where a standard booking is not an option, and offer real support without a bill at the end.

The fund pays for completely free deep cleaning and decluttering for people in genuine need in our area. There is no charge to the person receiving the help: donations and community support cover supplies, our time, travel, and disposal where it is needed.

Support might be right for someone who is:

• Older and living alone, with the home getting on top of them
• A vulnerable adult who needs a safe, hygienic space but cannot manage alone
• Part of a family dealing with illness, bereavement, or another crisis
• Anyone whose home needs a full reset so they can take a breath and move forward

A clean, ordered home does not fix everything, but it can lift a weight. It can make it easier to sleep, to invite someone in, or to feel a bit more like yourself again. That is what we are trying to give.

Donations help us cover the direct costs of funded cleans. Your support typically pays for:

• Cleaning supplies and equipment
• Staff time on site for deep cleaning and decluttering
• Travel and, where needed, responsible waste disposal
• Larger clear-outs when a full reset is what someone needs

Even a small donation - or sharing the fundraiser - helps us reach someone who can give, or someone who needs to know this fund exists.
